Guidelines for Protein Preparation
(pdf format) Notice: final programmeCourse description:
The course is aimed at Ph.D. students and postdocs who work within a field where protein structures are a source of information. The course is intended to enable the participants to validate three dimensional structures of proteins and the information that can be extracted from them. The course is comprised of a theoretical part, which will cover most elements of X-ray macromolecular crystallography and a practical part with hands-on practicals on protein crystallization and analysis and validation of structural information. For the practical part we encourage participants to bring their own proteins.
Registration:
The course is limited to 12 participants, and applications will be sorted by the relevance of the course to the research projects of the participants. Early application an advantage. To be considered for the course, send an application to one of the contact persons listed below before December 1st. The application can be sent by mail or e-mail. The application form can also be downloaded in Word-rtf format by clicking here.
Practical information:
The language of the course is English. The course runs over two weeks (4 and 6) from Jan 23th to 27th and from Feb 6th to 10th, 2006. The course will be held at the Centre for Crystallographic Studies. The teachers will be invited researchers and staff from the centre. The course is structured with lectures in the morning, and hands-on practicals in the afternoon. Attendance is compulsory for getting credit for the course, and evalution of the participants will be based on oral presentation of results and lab protocols. There will be a participation fee of 3500 Dkr (5000 Dkr for industry) covering lunch, tea/coffee and teaching material.
